After an incredibly exciting 2009 SA Junior Off Road Quad Championship, the senior class has been wrapped up by Team Can-Am’s Giacomo Antiga. Jackie as he is affectionately known has dominated the season form the start in Mafeking, winning the opening round. Jackie and his Can-Am DS 450 were only off the top step of the podium when beaten by the very fast Reigard Oosthuizen – on his CDV Can-Am DS 450 – and to mention the controversial exclusion of 21 of 25 finishers at the DeWets Dorp race for a rule infringement.
 
Jackie, who finished second in 2008, puts his success in 2009 down to a very serious fitness program and the stunning reliability and pace pf the Can-Am DS 450. An incredible feature and fact of his season is that he set the fastest lap at every race, often this being the last lap when so many competitors are suffering from fatigue. Without a single mechanical failure, great set-up and support from a dedicated team, Jackie was able to focus on the job at hand. At this stage plans are affot to keep Giacomo in the Junior ranks for one more year and start preparing him for the step up to Seniors in 2011. Along with his young team mate Jamie, who plans to one day take over the top spot from his speedy partner, they plan to stick to the strict training routine throughout the off season and be ready to compete in 2010.
